Ability
One of today’s champion’s five ability icons, shown whole. Name the champion, then name the slot.
How Ability works
Every champion has five abilities: a passive and four spells on Q, W, E and R. Each morning one champion is drawn, then one of their five icons. That icon is the whole board, shown at full size from the very first look — there is nothing pixelated, cropped or held back.
Because there is no picture to unlock, wrong guesses buy hints instead. The first arrives at three wrong guesses and they are champion attributes — gender, resource type, region and the rest. Skip costs exactly one wrong guess and buys exactly what a wrong guess would, so you can pay for the next hint without spending a champion name you wanted to keep. Give Up reveals the answer but does not count towards your streak.
The slot round
Naming the champion is only half of it. Once you have them, the game asks which of their five slots you have been looking at — P, Q, W, E or R — and the slots you have already tried stay crossed off. That second half is scored on its own: the streak was recorded when you named the champion, so a wrong slot, or giving up on one, cannot take the day back off you.
Tips
Read the border before the picture. Riot draws each region's kit with a recognisable palette and frame — Ionian blues, Noxian reds and blacks, Freljord whites — and that is often clearer at icon size than whatever the art in the middle is meant to be.
For the slot, think about what the icon shows rather than what it looks like. Passives are usually a symbol or a mark rather than an action, and ultimates are usually the busiest drawing of the five. Q and W are the two that most often look alike.
